Car looks great mate - I actually prefer my Sparco buckets to the standard seats! Probably due to the high driving position though!

Any review on the dashcam? Can it be hardwired to come on and off with the ignition?

Its been hardwired in, it works with the ignition but also has a parking mode. Basically it takes a pictures every second to save on storage. When you turn on the ignition it tell you if there have been any incidents. It also monitors battery life to prevent the voltage going too low. Ill upload some footage when I can.

Went to fit the nearside window regulator today, found this blocking the window. Its obviously snapped off somewhere but I couldn't work it out exactly.

Removed and the window works perfectly. £50 saved

New front shoes for the Clio, the Nankang NS2s havnt held up too well, one blew out after a pot hole and the other has done a few Autosolos, pretty bloody goosed though.

Got a boot mat but this bolt wont come out , came out half way with a windy gun then seized. Was hoping to have it done today but I dont fancy cutting the bolt out as I plan to have rear seats again.

The rear seats are out and the boot carpet is in, need a Hoover hour but its in ace condition.
Fitted a usb charger to replace the port, nice clean fit and just makes life a bit easier.
Passenger seat rail has broken so I've had to buy another to sort that [emoji24].

Some really boring updates lately but its good to look back to see what the car has been trough. Going to have a go with a 1st lambda to see if it fixes my running issue.

Looks great but it’s just too big imo. Smaller wheel is miles better for the driving experience

So Sunday was the last Autosolo of the year. It went fairly s**t. The course had a couple of parts I couldn't get round because of how tight it was. After the first set the course was opened up a bit and I could get round well.
Traction was a problem for the first 5 laps too, old wet go kart track, slippy.
Attached is a quick video of a part of the course.

Ended up in 29/32 after the first 5 laps but finished the day 18/32 which was a pretty impressive pull back.

Leaving the event my clutch was slipping like crazy in 2nd to 5th so I've ordered one up from George Snee, great service and better price. Going to put off doing it as long as I can.

I've decided I'm going to pick up an autosolo car, little k11 Micra or something similar. I had a small incident with some truck tyres. Luckily no damage somehow but I dont want to ruin this car doing autosolos.

I've ordered up some front wishbone and rear beam polybushes too. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/59f75df4431a4/received_1892048660809359.mp4

How do you find your handbrake in autosolos? I'd like to try one in my 172 but the handbrake is crap at locking the wheels on the move, will simply changing rear discs and pads sort it?

I dont use it, it doesn't work. I managed to get it to lock up once on gravel, just.

To be honest the Clios arnt great for autosolos. Won an event at Lymm earlier this year because it was a really open course. Really struggle on the tighter courses.

Bugger, the 17 year old in me does love pulling handbrake turns! Might have a quick look to see if there's performance brake pads available for the rear of these.

To be honest the handbrake is just s**t. You can get it working properly but the abs works with it. Even with the traction control off the abs will cut power with the handbrake locked up.

The way around this is pulling the fuse which them bias the brakes to 50/50, what happens then when you brake hard the back end slides out of place a bit which can be a pain.

Even with this, autosolos are great fun for little money in whatever car.

Today I picked the car up from the Garage who did the Clutch. My PMS shifter has started rattling since... other than that a dirty key its great.

From there I went to a mates house and polybished the wishbones, replaced both anti roll bar outer rubbers and one of the ball joints. ( other side done a few months ago).

Going to get the tracking done in the morning. I dont know if it's just the thought that it will be loads better but it does feel a fair bit better on the roads.

Plan to do the rear beam bushes in a few weeks.

It's the only adjustable thing no? Completely standard suspension other than springs and polybush wishbones.

Yeah but I meant it doesn't matter for the other settings. I'd get camber bolts before going back though

Have you fixed the cold set of problem? Mine does it (bogs, not revving above 2k etc) for about a quarter/half of a mile before being perfectly fine..

Also, how do you rate the sparco sprint? Been looking at one recently. How did you mount it?

Like the car btw!
Got to putting the first lambda on and it's fixed the cold running issue 90%. No more limiter feel, occasional misfire.

if it makes you feel any better im having the EXACT same rough running/ start problem.
so far iv done-
new NGK plugs
New OE coil and leads
new NGK pre lambda
cleaned map and throttle body

not sure where to start next really.
if you get to the bottom of it please let me know and ill do the same bud @Joe Smart
Put a 1st lambda on last week and it's fixed it 90%. Havnt had the "limiter effect" since and only an occasional misfire.

Great! Looks like ill be ordering one. Already done a few other bits and bobs which helped mine out some.

Rear beam polybushed today, I was told it could be done without removing the beam but we decided for a few extra bolts it wasn't worth faffing around.
Alot easier than I expected but on the passenger side we dropped the whole mount and the Captive bolt spun so we ended up welding 2 of them.

The Clio never fails to make a new fault when I fix something, on my way home from this the throttle cut out and the electrical warning light came on...
Turned it off and on and it's working again, see how long that lasts for..

I've developed a pretty serious front end knock but can't find anything for the life of me. I can only see a bit if extra play in the new anti roll bar bushes but it's not a massive amount.

The Ramair filter was a bit past it, only a few months old so its most likely my fault for not mounting it properly.
I ordered a pipe to replace the original intake and a filter for the breather a few weeks ago so I decided to fit all that Jazz.

Filter is tie wrapped out of danger for now and the breather filter is sort of bodged on until I can make a little bracket for it.

Been a bit naff on the Clio front.

I found this air filter that appears to be genuine but I'm not 100% sure. It works and I'm keeping it.

I had an incident at the last Autosolo.
All sorted now with a bit of faffing around.

Anyway I'm happy ish with the state of the Clio, I have a few jobs to do over the next few weeks and it should be ace.

-Rear discs and pads to fit due to a goosed wheel bearing. Had OEM Discs and Brembo pads supplied by George Snee and they will be fitted next week.

- I need to re fit the exhaust and Im planning to replace the rose joint with a flange and put a flexi in all going well. If not then just re fit it.

-Since the clutch was done they didnt fit the PMS back well and its catching on something in Neutral and rattles something rotten so that needs refitting

-Passenger window needs the clip replacing so I can use it again.

- refitting rear seats soon.

When you're changing yoyr alternator, get to this point and the wrong one gets delivered...

Think my time with this Clio is over. I'm going to strip some ofthe valuables and put standard on and get it sold. Its let me down too many times and I just don't trust it.

I'm getting it MOT'd on Saturday and I'm goinf to do a few clean up jobs to make it nice for the new owner but its going to be the end of the line.

Its somewhat upsetting considering how much time and money I've put into it.
Over the year including purchase I've had nearly 6k in it. I've sold some of it in the past few months but I'll be lucky to see £2500 back.

Long time no update.

The Clio is still in my possesion and is going nowhere.

Since my last update I had the MOT done and it required a rack boot ans cv boot refitting.

The boot locking mechanism failed, I've ordered one from Tim Finch but havnt had chance to fit it.

The starter motor finally packed in to confirm the occasional starting issue. I changed that tonight. Got it done in 2 hours without unbolting the manifold. It wasn't too bad but Im not in a rush to do it again.

I'm trying to leave the clio be for now and just keep it plodding on.
