Is it worth the money? [noob question]

  A slow blue one.
Hi Guys

First can I apologize if this question has been answered before, typing induction kit into the search feature returns a stupid amount of results! I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to engines and mechanics but everyone's gotta start somewhere so go easy on me!
I've got a 1.2 16v and I'm considering getting an induction kit for it. What sort of results can I expect and are the results noticeable enough on a small engine to justify the price?

Cheers

Figured that'd be the case, cheers for the heads up. Save my £80 for a better purpose!

They are worth it for the noise.

Exhaust noise is guff. Induction note is where its at.

Noise = Chicks, its the CS way ;)

Just get a panel filter.

Okay, now there's no way in hell atm I can spend £80 on a nicer sound so is the panel filter a reasonable substitute which will achieve a similar result?

However £80 is cheaper than a decent *ahem* escort... winner  haha

Ktec do one^ but if your trying to increase power on your 1.2 dont bother, just make it look nice which is what most of us non Renaultsport owners do ;)

That's the impression I've got and I've only been on this site a few days, finally people who've got it right! The morons who live round my way have a habit of doing ridiculous things to cars with small engines, basically mutton dressed up as lamb. I've seen a few non-sports on here which look really clean and tidy without looking like they're owned by a member of the Tesco car-park massive.

If you want a noise then get an induction kit no car mod can be price justified as you never get your money back when you sell the car unless you put it back to standard blah blah, expect no gains maybe a slight throttle nip when its cold but when the engine heats up the induction kit draws warm air into inlet . bad times. I always use k&n panel filters because i always have and never had any probs. they are better for your engine as they trap more dirt than the OEM and give a slight increase in airflow, again no power gains worth mentioning.

ADMIN ; PLEASE STICKY SOMETHING LIKE THIS

Cheers buddy, I'm on a few different forums for a few different things and people with an attitude like yours (and pretty much everyone who's posted on my thread already, thanks for the information btw everyone) are few and far between i.e people who don't instantly beat-down on the newbie for asking a question which may have already been asked before.

Panel Filet/Induction kit not worth it on the 1.2, been there and hardly got a grunt from the engine unless i was doing about 70/80, save your money tbh,

That's the impression I've been given. Going to just focus on the styling, got a lot of basic work to do on it e.g colour coding, alloys etc. Save performance mods for the future when I get something with a little more stock power.
