INSTALLING AMP POWER LEAD IN A 172

hi, i have a mk1 172. has anyone run a power lead from the battery through the bulk head into the cabin of the car?? if so how and where did u run it? ive been looking for a hole in the bulk head to put the wire through but on the 172s the bulk head is carpeted and inside the car on the bulk head has a rubbery covering hence making it a nightmere to get a cable through.

any ideas????? cheers :)

Do a search and youll find loads of info. Basically you have to run it through the rubber grommit where the bonnet release cable goes.

Hello Ian..... It is a bit of a chew but not as bad as you think....

The easiest way is through rubber grommet under passenger footwell..

Its where the bonnet release catch comes in.. Basically trick is to push cable through from inside car and keep pushing until you can feel behind sound proofing..

It may take a few attempts and is best with two people but its worth it in the end!

Once you can get a grip on cable just start pulling through from engine bay until battery is reached

Hope this helps
