Hunting idle on phase 1

Hi guys,

The idle on my 172 occasionally hunts around 1,00-1,500rpm. Seems to be completely random. Google suggests a new air temp sensor, any other suggestions?

Sticky throttle body usually.

Yeah, I did think that as the idle was initially just sitting high until you blip the throttle.

Why would it hunt, ECU trying to adjust it with fuel/ICV?

whoa mate, my issue exactly - replaced the ICV and the TDC - and no good.
did you find a solution? does any one have a sollution?

Same happened to me, my map sensor was loose and I changed throttle body, all sorted.. I used a throttle bodie from a 99 megane 8v,

Good info, cheers mate. My TPS seems a bit dodgy and has a suspicious cable tie on it so definitely getting it replaced!
