Is that the one down near southampton somewhere on Autotrader? I've been wondering about going to have a look, although it's a long way off. He's been steadily dropping the price for the last few weeks (I've just not had any time at weekends to see it)

Just seen that on AT, right by me.. hmm. Tad expensive i'd say.

Yep that's the one, it's a bit of trek from me too, otherwise I might of had a look

As you said it's been on there a couple of weeks, and I think he's dropped it by £100 fairly recently

Still think it's slightly overpriced but does look tidy,

Seems like if you could get it for 2.5k that would be around the right price?

Buy a car from a member on here if you're looking chap.

Chances are it will have had the right advice etc. Servicing with the right info.

I'd want to buy it cheaper than that TBH.

But if i was selling, i'd be aiming for that figure,

Cheaper than £2500?

By choice I'd rather have one of here, but after waiting/looking for 6 months (I've had a wanted add up for 4 months) I'm starting to get a bit impatient!

Nothing has come up on here really which I'm after, admittedly I'm being a bit fussy

This one should be fairly well looked after with Main Dealer history I'd hope

Oh budget and does it have to be Arctic? We're you the chap deciding between bg and Arctic the other day

Budget would be about 4k, if I'm honest for that I'd want Turini's with it and Recaros' as well, or seriously low mileage etc

By choice I'd be looking around the 3kish-3.5kish mark for something sub 70k miles, tidy, full fat, full service history with the belts done (preferably specialist) which I think is fair? Bonus if it has Turini's

Yep, well remembered! Really after an Arctic tbh, although I'd get a Black Gold if it was the spec I was after at a decent price

Easily get something nice specced for that money. Although may not happen overnight as you found out allready. Id be looking for rb, but then I love that colour. Will let you know if anything crops up mate

Appreciate it a lot mate!

Yep as you said, been looking at them for 6 months now, and this is the only one which has really tickled my fancy tbh, but seems it's slightly overpriced - I don't mind paying slightly too much if it's exactly what I'm after

I've been looking at the following almost religiously: eBay, Gumtree, Autotrader, Pistonheads, this forum and FB Pages (Csoc and Renault UK) so I shouldn't be missing many haha

Not a fan of Racing Blue one bit sorry mate, White is the only other colour which would interest me besides Arctic (or Black), but obviously that's a respray job so not many about

Fair enough ref rb. So what its a tad over priced. I assume you are going to keep it and it looks well maintained? Sometimes its not worth chasing that cheaper car mate, trust me.

Good point!

Yes mate, I'd say I'd roughly be looking at having it 2 years at a rough guess - Put it this way if I paid £200 or whatever more than it's worth but it gives me no issues I wouldnt care

Put it this way I don't mind paying that bit more, just don't want to overpay and find it gives me a load of problems, you don't mind so much if you get one at a good price and a couple of issues as it takes you back evens as such

I know you never know with these sort of cars what will go wrong really, luck of the draw sometimes...

theres nothing stopping a cheaper, lower miled one causing you grief mate. Pay on condition, history and what will be, will be.

Completely understand buddy

The main thinking was I could be doing a fair few miles each year (up to around 15k is a possibility)

So I've got a choice - get one low mileage and by the time I'm done it should be around normal mileage, or get a high mileage one and carry on racking the mileage up

My concern is if I buy one with 100k mileage on, by the time I'm done it's going to possibly be on 130k, which I could imagine is a very limited market

And I don't want to have to spend say £600 on cambelt, etc on something only worth about 1.5k, possibly less!

I thought sub 70k, by the time I'm done after 2 years still under 100k, shouldn't have too much issue trying to sell with a bit of luck

The corollary is that a car that has done decent mileage but been maintained may take 15k a year better than a car thats mostly sat in a garage and may be suffering some niggles, and if you don't mind a little bit of DIY, a damper refresh etc may be worthwhile on the cheaper car and you get to benefit from it. YMMV.

/in a similar position with my pug which I bought cheap at 120k and is now at 140k but want to replace it with something a bit younger/lower miles.

Hey on the verge of scratching an itch, so considering coming to part with my car.
would like to know what it's worth.

2005 BG 182 @ 75000k
Garrett GT25 Turbo running at 1.0+ bar (320bhp, 300lbft of torque)
Wossner Rods and pistons, pistons CR @ 9:5:1
ARP Bolts, ACL bearings
Clio Turbo boost pipes
Adaptronic ECU
Adaptronic coil pack
Mac valve boost control
Vibratechnics engine / gearbox mounts
Milltek full exhaust system with decat
Helix paddle clutch
refurbished gearbox
Cooksport springs
Whiteline RARB
Brembo HC discs, brembo pads.
Snappy retrim steering wheel
Streamline carbon interior trim.
Stack boost clock

Think that's the majority of the bits. belts, de-phaser and water pump done last year around 64k.

  Clio 172, Escort RST
Phase 1 172 127k
Titanium silver
Fsh
Aluminium bonnet and shift light
Refurbed f1's
Belts, dephaser and water pump changed last month by mike at rentech ( mike mentioned it was a very strong engine)
Ktec stainless steel stealth cat back exhaust ( year old)
Radiator replaced 6 months ago
Cup spoiler
182 tailgate
Polybushed dog bone mount
Colour coded door handles and mouldings
Few stone chips and one parking ding

How much is it worth?
Cheers guys!

My valuation may be off but if it is clean I would say £1500. You buy a shitter of a 172 for £700 and spend that and more again to get it to a similar standard to yours. But then I would expect nothing more from a valuations thread ;).

  Monaco Blue 172
I'm considering selling my 172 so I can do further upgrades to my camper.
Monaco blue 172 (ph2) on 69k
MASSIVE file of receipts, the previous owner spent a fortune sorting this car.
I bought in Jan 14 and in March 14 I had the cambelt, dephaser and aux belts done for peace of mind, then the reluctor ABS ring cracked shortly after so had this replaced.
Other recent work since I've owned.
New TDC sensor Oct 14
Two new rear shocks Oct 14 (only one needed doing, but replaced both just incase)
Serviced this April, then last month I had rear discs and pads and also replaced the o/s rear caliper.
Other modifications include inlets and remap. Excellent mpg (if you're bothered) cracking performance. Certainly noticeably quicker than my mechanics' own standard 172. Filled up with Silkolene PRO S oil. Nothing cheap.
Also have a spare set of refurbished alloys that haven't yet been put on. I was going to put them on for the summer keeping the old (but fine) ones for the winter grit and salt, but am not too worried to be honest as those on it are fine. Needs new front tyres, but i'll probably have those done.

Also has a kenwood stereo, linked up to steering wheel controls (so operates as standard) but I do have the original radio still.
Thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

  Black 182

Matched inlets
rs tuner remap 98ron
scorpion exhaust
Scorpion Decat
rs mats
professional Tints all round

New engine top mount
Poly bushed dog bone
Whiteline ARB

MOT November

Now....
Cyncro is going on 2nd gear. Car still runs and drives
now sitting on my drive and she can't afford to fix it. I have no intrest in doing it as I'm more of a Rwd man myself although this s**t over 2 different 200sx s14a. Octavia vrs. 200bhp gti golf. It's a quick car

Please help me out with what it's worth as I'm looking to get another car on the drive in its place. If anyone has any constructive advice or swap offers I'd be happy to listen. Cash offers welcome however this car would break to easily 2500 if someone could be bothered and it will not be going for 500.

If I drop the sub - frame and replace or rebuild the box what will it be worth?

Thankyou for your time

Charlie

  Renault Clio 182
How much would you pay for;
BG 182 2004 (54)
89k miles
FSH
Cambelt, water pump and dephaser changed at 66k 25/11/12 by a Renault specialist specialist.
Standard exhaust not too loud (no rust).
One slight mark on the front bumper but hardly noticeable. And the alloys are very clean apart from a mark in the front alloy the size of a 2p coin.
Cheers

Thinking of selling my clio monacco sport rep.
It is a 51 reg dci 65, it's a got a full sport kit with interior as well, speedline 2118's with yolkahoma paradas on the rear and toyo tr1 on front,
it's on coilovers on the front with 20mm hub centric spacers and 172 rear suspension with 10mm Hub spacers but have got some very short lowering springs which would go with the car.
It's done 115k with some history but drives well for what it is . And cleans up very well.
