headlight trouble(ph1 172)

last week 1 of the front main dip bulb's blew on my 172,i was bizzy at work and unable to get a new 1 straight away.friday night i had to nip out and the other 1 blew leaving me with just high beam and the side light's.
so yesterday a went and bought 2 new front bulb's(£22)

when i fitted them switched them on,they worked. so i thought i would flash them to find they both went out:S
i've checked the fuse and they seem fine,checked the bulb's and they also look fine.


What shall i check now as it's getting dark at 5pm

just checked the plug that plugs into the bulb,and there don't seem to be any power

sounds a bit strange, loose connection on the back of the bulbs??
