h/u and sub

hi , just got a new h/u with a "sub out" rca lead,
does that need to go tru an amp and into a sub, or just into a sub...cant see it powering the sub?
can remember if ive seen that its 2.5 volts somewhere

Deffinately need an amp to power a sub buddy...

the rca lead needs to go to the back of the head unit to the amp. the amp is powered by the battery. and then you can simply get a thick while from the amp to the sub.
