Fuel Leak Help

  Williams Clio
I could smell petrol when i was stopped at a junction on my way home from work tonight. Thought nothing more of it until i stopped for the second time. Eventually made it home to find that one of my fuel lines maybe even two have been split by the alternator belt. These im guessing are the fuel return lines as the car was still running fine. Any ideas how this may have happened and how easy they are to replace?? Its a williams 1

This is what I done when the pipe went on my clio 16v.

(This was the high pressure hose but I think they run the same sort of course)

1: Take the fuel pump fuse out and turn the car over a couple of times (this should depressure the fuel system) or just put a towel over the injector when taking it off to stop fuel going in your face.

2: Take the fuel pipe of the injector.

2: Feed the fuel pipe down past the manifold to the ground beside the wheel where u should see a join where it connects to the next section of pipe (disconnect the pipe from next section) and then replace it with the new pipe.

3: Feed the pipe back up the same way past the manifold and connect it back onto the injector.

4: Check all is correct and make sure nothing is rubbing off belts etc + is not leaking anywhere!

Oh and you should get a fuel hose from halfords (if its a special hose it will have to be renault (if so maybe just patch the fuel pipe until the part comes)

Ok cheers i'll give it ago. Still not sure how they have managed to catch on the belt. It looks like a bracket may have broken.

I still dont know exactly how they managed to catch on the belt im guessing they have either been routed wrong or from what i can see a bracket has snapped as can just been seen on the photo below.
