Flashing Serv Light

So, finished work,jumped in the car and drove off then noticed the serv light flashing. Car runs fine, no other lights on or flashing at me. Haven't got the owners manual at all, but would I be correct in thinking it just wants a service rather than anything sinister rearing it's head?

I don't think they have a service indicator all must be something else

There is normally another light on to accompany the SERV light

I had the SERV light on the other day. When I turned the engine off and on again, the LCD display was flashing "OIL". Topped up the oil - problem solved. Worth a look maybe?
