Fitting ph2 side strips to a ph1 non-sport

Hey everyone, performed a search for this but with no such luck with anyone posting about the same problem.

I picked up some ph2 side strips to go on my ph1 non-sport (98 is it's year) under the impression that they should be a straight swap but it looks like I made a silly mistake and they aren't, below are two photos I took which I hope should help others identify a solution.

The two strips, top is ph2 and bottom are the ph1s:

im thinking snap some of the clips which are stopping the strips from sliding on?

what dan said just trim them up as im sure the doors are the same on ph1s and 2
