first time machine polishing...

as the title says this will be my first time using a machine, but it needs done as my paint is full of nasty swirls. i am looking for some advice on what polish/pads to go for. nothing too expensive though please lol.

The question is what car it is for, I'm guessing your 172 Cup? What sort of Polisher have you got? French paint is fairly soft compared with German paint so dependant on the harshness of the swirls, I would recommend using a Menerza/Sonus Compounding or Finishing Pad with Menerza Final Finsh/Power Finish but make sure you start with the Finishing Pad and Final Finish combo, first as you may find this does the job, then move up through the polishes and then the pads, cannot get a good idea without seeing the state of the paint. Hope this helps

Do loooooots of homework first. I've not invested in a polisher as TBQFH I'm aware how easily it can go bottoms up and the paint's on fire.

For Clio paint, try the Sonus pads. I take it you already have a machine? If so, look on I4Detailing at the Sonus SFX pads and Menzerna polishes. I would suggest for the Clio you go with a small bottle of 85RE (Final Finish) and 3.02 (Intensive Polish).

The 85 should see correction for most of the swirls you have, but if you are finding that it just doesn't have enough cut, step up the pad combo and use 3.02.

cheers. all i know about the machine is that its dual action not sure what make.
