Hi guys

Im having a problem with my fuel usage which if driving really Eco gets only 32 and on a drive to plymouth from Birmingham only got 37mpg

what could this be?

Also sometimes running from cold when driving hitting 3k revs you can hear a rattle coming from the screen vent so presuming engine bay, what could this be?

then lastly my recaro trendlines make a rattle when driving if know one is sat in the passenger seat?

Lambda could be out. You could do with getting it on the comp to see if there are any codes.

Also, do you know when and who changed the belts last?

I had them done few months back but I never asked if they had the proper tool they said they had done quit a few though, the guy who serviced the car said its because I do a lot of short journeys so cat gets clogged so run it on motorway in fourth for 10 mins to clear it out but surely 2 hours on motorway at 80mph should do that anyway

It's not a carb'd Mk2 escort.

Has it felt slower since the belts were done? You could always take the top cover off to check if it's got the old tippex marks on, or pay fred to check it for you?

They have a rolling road there and they showed me the cat getting bright orange to which it then gets rid of the crap and no if anything the car runs better

Just feels as if its over fueling, what is the common mpg? Might just change my lamba and go from there and also inspect to see if any tip ex marks

Tbf they are all crap from cold. Mine has the fastchip map and i still find it can be a bit lumpy every now and then.

If you are worried there is a couple of specialists within your area who can check it over.

mine not ben run propper in 2 years (had a new engine in too). i got an old 98 ron map from fast chip on my car ron about 32mpg round town

not had chance to give it a run yet tho
