16v - 7.1s dry 7.7s wet

i rekon i have the quickest 16v being standard. I have raced many other 16vs and won hands down sometimes almost 2 cars lengths infront also a willy 2 the other day and he couldnt get past until 4th gear at about 92mph. In terms of figures a recorded 7.1seconds in the dry and a lethal 7.7 in the wet the figures speak for them selves.

The only reason i can think of is that the car has been driven hard all its life. This is not to say its unreliable cos i dont have half the probs other 16v/willys seem to have on here.

Nick bring the AP-22 to Brands on the 24th - do some rocket testing hehe

Danny boy

I have a standard phase 2 clio 16v. NOTHING has been done to the engine, it has standard air filter and standard exhaust.

As craggy says some are just very fast out of the box, like craggys standard willy, he has low six seconds and i have very low 7s - quality control for renault has never been thier strong point.

They were obviously in a good mood when they built our engines lol

aaron, mine wax high sixs as standard and that was with two gearchanges, now with upped rev limit cos of chip its very low in the sixes having to only change from first to second cos it now does 60 in second, and a little more power. it is a rocked now, im dying for a pice of a CTR

where you from danny boy? i wanna compare notes with a cup? theres one in donny but i havent had the pleasure yet

HAHA!!

fantastic......

several thing to think of.

indeed if the relationship of mass to surface are is the same on both objects, under real world conditions (not that of everything falls at teh same rate, this only takes gravety into account) then they will falla t eh same rate, suffice that forces of drag are equal too.

The bricks would land first, if they were cemented (in an equal number of bricks on all sides shape) together and the weight included in the 1 ton. BUT, if you put 1 ton of bricks and 1 ton of feathers in the same dimention container, then they would land at the same time.#

BUT, if the 1 ton of feathers were stuck together using resin then mooulded into a very low drag shape and teh bick layed out in a 1 brick tall x however many bricks wide flat shape, then the feathers would land first.

same reason base jumpers use an orange to simulate the rate of fall for a human.....

i hope this is right......haha.

Golf ball 111 (regulation number, or is it 113?) dimples create boundary turbulance, reducing drag and increasing control....and when you add spin (whether on purpose of if you suck..like me haha)...whehey where has the ball gone!!

Saw a thing on that Jezza Clarkson show speed, them speed skiers have dimples in their suits dont they? Same effect as the golf ball...

really!?

i thought that all they had was teh fact that the suits were designed to inflate with the air speed and creata an aerofoil shape.

What about those shark skin speedo suits....never seen one, only in teh olympics seen it.

no..... the aerofoils are part of the suit and are hard. Theyre designed to avoid dirty air coming off of the back of the skiier and slowing him down. They help create less drag

he he well i think i can claim to have the fastest TIMED willy down the 1/4 this year

cheers

Jon thats cause you had no fapping interior only a seat mate, if you could remove the dash you would to get the extra -.1 second time down. ;)

Anyway like I said Ill take you on using my pushbike, gonna take it dragging down the strip next time we meet :p I have stripped the bike to bare essentials like wheels and thats pretty much it mate !!!

Chavy - Then youll have the biggest rims (unless its a BMX) mountain bikes are what - 20 inch rims? ;)

Clio max is what? 18 maybe?

  Corsa 1.3 CDTI

Yepp and then some...

Ive even though to reduce the weight more I can run on rims with no tyres and then if that doesnt help I thought about temoving every other spoke. :p

  williams and trophy

lol.chavy mate u got it wrong lol

ged was the one with only the drivers seat in lol

i had to have the passengers seat in for my missus

i only drop the rear seats n spare wheel when i race and usually have 1/2 -3/4 full tank of juice.

as for lightening ur bike ...im sure my mate (who builds ORANGE bikes) and my supply of carbon can get a lighter bike than 1 of ur wheels lol

race ON lol

Well my mission has always been to have the fastest road legal Clio (you cant really include Cup cars and Super 1600s). At the moment Im pretty certain Ive achieved it - a quicker 1/4 mile time than *any* other Clio of *any* kind that I have seen results for - you can see the stats on the left.

There may be Clios out there that are quicker but if so I wanna see the timing slip! I think next year therell be a few Clios pulling 13/14 second passes with turbo work etc...if they ever stop talking about it and start doing it! But Im not about to let anyone clock a faster time than me, it took a hell of a lot of my time and money to get a 16v that rapid! Ive got plenty more up my sleeve, winter mods to get on with, try and stay ahead of the game.

Im pretty sure there are some very fast Clios in France, theyve had a lot more development over there and all kinds of crazy stuff has been tried with 16vs and Willys, Clios genuinely packing 200-300 bhp with times to match, but theyre not all strictly street legal.
