EPAS with dci rack

Hey guys,

Current PAS pump on my car is making some awful noises when on full lock, tempted to remove the system and fit an EPAS setup.
I'm aware that the dci racks can be fitted along with the column, ECU etc.

What is the approx. total cost of the conversion and how does the resistance of the steering compare to the hydraulic setup?

Can someone with decent mechanic skills attempt this also?
What happens to the PAS pump, is it removed? If so, what must go in its place?

Thanks

  dan's cast offs.
bin the pump and fit an idler.

price mainly depends on how much you pick the used parts up for. easy enough job, to be honest the worst part is getting the rubber boot back in place at the bottom of the column.
