Engine sounds rubbish (Not dephaser pulley)

Hi,

My old standard exhaust system was hanging on by a threat for months until I had a stainless cat-back system fitted at Prospeed a couple months ago and everythings been great since.

Just recently though the engine has started to sound a bit...rubbish. A bit like it's done 150k with poor servicing maybe.

I can't really describe the sound but the first thing i checked was the oil level, it's fine and the oil was only changed 6 months ago.

I then thought maybe i had an exhaust blow somewhere between the cat and the manifold, i've checked that and it is also fine.

Any ideas?

Cold the internals of my cat be shagged, like what happens on the standard centre sections?

Need a better explanation.

Is it engine noise, top end rattle?

Or exhaust noise?

From the explanation above it could be absolutley anything.

I'm really struggling to describe it, i'll have a think and maybe see if a video will work.

It sounds like an exhaust blow from the cat but it's not. This is making bthe engine sound a bit ropey, a bit like it is runing low on oil or the oil is too thin.

There is no rattling or cluttering.
