Engine Out - Driveshafts In?

  Clio 182
Hi Guys

I'm taking the engine out over the weekend to get some work done so the gearbox is coming out with it for a new clutch etc.

My question is can you just leave the driveshafts in the hub, undo the balljoint and track rod end and pull the whole lot out the gearbox that way?

The reason I'm asking is I dont want to fork out for a torque wrench rated to 275NM or new hub nuts if its avoidable...

yep you can do that, unbolt the balljoints from the wishbones, don't go splitting them - waste of time

Thanks Fred, put my mind at ease, I've done it that way on other cars but just wondered if there was enough room to get away with it on the clio.
