Engine cover colours?

  Black-Gold 182
Hi all,

Apologies if I've posted in the wrong section.

I've a bit of a dilema. I've recently resprayed the plastic dash-trims as the drivers side one was keyed by the previous owner, and resprayed them in silver (as close to original as I could get). Because of this I've some silver paint left over, and was thinking of spraying my engine cover. The question is, do I go for silver engine cover, black plenum and silver "renault" on the engine block, or do I go for black engine cover, silver plenum and black "renault" ? I've a can of Black Gold which I bought for repairing a ding on my bumper, so I was thinking the black gold cover would look quite cool. Obviously I'm gonna have to get VHT paint for the plenum and block itself, but what does everyone think?

Yeah, only problem is I don't think I'll be able to get black gold in VHT paint - I'm limit to "black" or "silver" with that. I had to get the black gold made up especially as it was!

yes true but if you goto a paint specialist , pretty sure you can get the colour you want in aersol .

i know someone who sprayed his cover mondial blue like the cups ;)

Nah, you misunderstand me. Engine cover black gold, Plenums silver, but then I'd have to paint the "renault" bit black. Think it'd look ok though... I'll have to get on Photoshop and have a play I think...

all depends on what colour the car is and if your going to colour code hoses ...ie samco.

Car is black gold (thus the comment about reparing a ding earlier), and I did try to colour code the hoses, but the b*stards at Venair sport sent me a blue hose instead of a black one, and haven't done anything about replacing it.

So I unfortunatly have a blue hose in the engine bay at the moment.
