Hi all. Im after a bit of help with my driveshafts.
To cut a long story short I have to cut and shut my 172 driveshafts, the end fitting onto the gearbox (drivers side) is an internal spline with an end flange on, being held in by the bearing on the block.
I am replacing from 1.2 oasis shafts and they have the same spline, but they dont have the bearing on the block, they have a cotter pin hole.
My question is the flanged part, is this always pushed up to the gearbox, or is some clearance left
Image borrowed from here somewhere.
Is that correct, I need this as a datum to get the correct length.
Thanks
Mark
