Driver side seat belt clip

My driver side seat belt clip doesnt always clip in properly, sometimes takes a couple of tries before it locks into place. is this a common problem? can it be fix or would it be better to get hold of a replacement just to be on the safe side.

I would want a replacement as it could unclip your belt if you crashed.

Plus, i think its an MOT test item as well.
