Different standards of airbox?

I fitted my standard airbox last night, however no matter what I do, the two bungs don't seem to line up on the mounts in the engine bay.

If I bolt the front one together, there's a huge, maybe 1" gap between the rear mount in bay and bung!

it definitely came off a 172 cup...........Am I missing something?

172 ph1 and 172 ph2 have different ones I think, but they're hugely different.

Can see here the front bracket, and the fact it's almost catching on the airbox. Can't be right can it?

You can see that I probably have 1/2" of clearance between bush and bracket on rear of air box.

As far as I'm aware it sits on the battery tray mount ok
