Danith's Megane R26 2.0t

Can't wait for the fitting of these parts - also ordered some brand new R26/Cup front shocks and OEM top mount kits in order to fully refresh the front end and coupled with the uprated steering rack bush from 'track race parts' just to compliment it all.
Shouldn't really be that worn at 64k, but while the springs are getting done it's probably more cost effective to stick these on now. Could probably sell the older suspension setup (Eibach springs as std) on to someone else with a 225 or something.
Big thanks to Paul @renaultpartsdirect (seen he's just become the approved/official parts trader on here - think he's been on the radar for a lot of Renaultsport nuts for a while though) for sorting me out in time for fitting on Sat - take a look at his thread on here, looks to be some good deals for the Clios (and no I'm not on commission)

After a failed attempt at rattle canning the side strips I found someone locally who would sort them properly and got the spoiler done to match
Just picked them up and looks a decent job. Will polish and wax them up tomorrow and get them on after work! After seeing these I realised how crap a rattle can job is. Should tidy it up no end.

Up at 6.30am to get to Mark Black for 9am via snake pass. Decent drive in the fog and dawn sunrise!

Car feels massively better now, like a renaultsport should.
Powerflex mounts, uprated rack bush, goodridge hoses and fluid, new shocks, top mounts and h and r springs.

He did however point out that one tie rod needs replacing and the bushes on the lower arm are frigged!

So booked back in for november for powerflex poly bushes and a new tie rod.

Springs should settle over time but should be bang on, not too low and gets rid of that arch gap. Rides brilliantly on them too, made the right choice.

Defo looks better. Back dropped about 15mm and front I'd say 20mm with another 5 to go I reckon.
The drive is massively better. Felt a lot of rebound on the oem springs. Feels a hell of a lot more planted and takes bumps well so far. Steering much better and will feel even better when the poly bushes are done! Ha.

He's done a good paint match on the side strips too you can see now.

Fully recommend Mark Black, decent rate and fast! 100 miles round trip not too bad.

I saw my first LY at Mark's on sat. Will have to admit its definitely the best colour. Got a great pearlescent effect to it. I still couldnt deal with one for everyday tho!

Silver best colour after LY for me. Was top of my list when looking.

How good is Mark! The guys a whiz with these, he works so damn quick on them. Mine wont go to anyone else now. Looks good on the springs mate.
He's the Stevie at grinspeed for hondas equivalent for the megane!

Wasn't too bad a drive there too so yeah booked straight in again for bushes.

Did all that to mine in 3 hrs! Think I've exhausted all the things to do in creswell tho. Ha. Not sure what I'll do next time I'm hanging around.

Love this bbq paint stuff. So easy to apply. Engine cover looked a bit grotty so gave it a quick makeover

Sorted the annoying window reg issue out on friday before my 450 mile round trip for my birthday

Looks and felt like it was just water getting into the connections on the module making the window do weird things and sometimes not want to come back up!

Wrapped the new module in cling film and duct tape to try preventing it from happening again but all working again now with new temic module off ebay

Definitely has been tackled before, was already tape around the wiring harness.

Back at Mark Blacks today. Snake pass shut! Took woodhead and still slippery.
Anyway, new poly bushes, ball joints on the arms, new inner tie rod, gearbox Oil change and some hub bearing grease bolts.
Had a little squeak from brakes too so he's kindly taking a look to see what it is and while he's got it all apart he's fitting me the more reliable 'mr pinks' brembo pins and some white bulbs.

All done. Mark is a BEAST. Makes it look so easy. Was too cold to go wandering round the village so sat off in the unit and watched, ha.

Car feels totally different now to oem. Different car. Probably cos the old oem stuff was tired.
Car actually feels like a proper go kart now and with practically new steering and suspension it feels less rattly and french!

Took it back over the peaks in the snow. Was an absolute hoot.

Some pics of the cool little grease bolts he has had made up. No more worrying about pesky seized swivel bearings anymore. Simply replace the std nut and these have a hollow bolt and a grease nipple screwed into them so all there is to do now go refresh the bearing is pump grease into them to keep them from seizing (common issue and expensive through renault!). (Pics are of a spare pair a lad asked me to get for him from Mark).

Steering is razor sharp now. Think I'm gonna go back next month for rear bushes.

I'm serious mate, yours looks like it's sat great? Did you get everything done at Marks?
Everything except having the oem mounts and replacement fuel line fitted yeah. Fancy going back next month for the rear poly bushes but I also want it mapping with a better IC

197 steering wheel Turned up today thanks to Ash (@roland rat)

And some new mudflaps for the front to help prevent my rear arches getting peppered (45 quid from renault! Got these off ebay from someone with excess stock for half that after watching ebay for the last couple of months)

Gonna have a go at fitting it all tomorrow altho the steering wheel looks a bit of a ballache (for me)

Mudflaps on, steering wheel on and changed the side lights from the naff ebay leds to some slightly less naff ebay leds.

Not doing that again my hands are cut to shreds. Apparently the easiest way go change bulbs is to remove bumper - megane/french logic.

Steering wheel is a lot nicer. Steering actually felt lighter at first. Nice and chunky and nicer to look at. Must be due to the design but you can have it set lower than the oem wheel too.

Snapped my bloody dipstick putting the engine cover back on tho so had to leg it up to rochdale to get another! Fun!!

Stuck the homemade rear arch protectors on today. Much thicker stuff that the cheap crap ones I got off ebay, but they came in useful as a template. Not perfect but once squeegeed and heated up with a heat gun they're spot on.

My uprated recirc valve finally Turned up today too. Not gonna attempt to fit it myself after I cut my hands to shreds just fitting new sidelight bulbs!

Need to book it in and get someone to fit this bloody spoiler too!

Little update. A lad on the facebook groups I know off there was selling his gpi cooler as he's in search of 320bhp plus now and needs a bigger cooler. Its just what I've been looking for though so drove down to collect it today and bonus of bonuses he fitted it for me too.
Can't believe how easy the bumper comes off on these! Plastic fantastic.

Anyway, a lot thicker and heavier and an inch or so wider too so should be good for a stage 1 map up to 300 bhp. I'll be playing it safe though around 260-270.
