Constant whirring, humming noise in cockpit.

  Clio 172
Hey guys, I'm hoping one of you who's owned Clio's a bit longer than me can shed some light on this for me. I've recently bought an 04 172, good condition, low miles etc, Ktec induction and exhaust and mapped to 185bhp. Absolutely love it, more than I thought I would if I'm honest. However, something bugging me slightly, whenever the ignition is turned on, engine running or not, there is a constant whirring/humming/buzzing coming from somewhere behind the dash, nearer to the passenger side. Sounds like it's possibly either a motor, pump or fan of some sort, and I'm just wondering if a) it's normal, and b) what it is?? It's quite audible and constant whilst the ignition is on. I'm guessing it's probably normal, but for peace of mind wanted to tap into the fountain of knowledge available to me on here just to check something's not amiss. Cheer guys.

I just picked up a 2003 172....and have this exact same issue! Surely not normal. My old 182 certainly never did this.

@rs1903
I reposted this in the faults and solutions section and had a few replies, one chap suggested it was a fan up in the interior light section, and he was spot on!! I could've sworn it was coming from somewhere else, but had a close listen and yep, it's up there. Certain yours will be the same mate! Apparently there's a fan which blows air across a sensor for the climate control and it can get a bit noisy, or is just noisy.

Your right! That's exactly where it's coming from. Gonna have to see if I can sort this out though,is a tad annoying.

I've started to get used to it now lol. I'm ok with it now I know what it is and that it's sort of normal and nothing's wrong. I'll tag in in the other thread so you can read. Apparently you can stop it!
