Clio 200 Can Anyone Help?

Hi All,

Been driving the car for the last couple of months absolutely love the thing. But....

Problem - 2nd Gear 2000 revs the car starts to jump like a kangaroo. I've taken it back to the garage and they have found no faults. Only modifications - Middle box removed from exhaust. Also removed the Induction kit as I thought that was the problem but no still have the same kanagro effect. More so when cold, even does it when engine is warm (odd time)

Anyone have or know of a fix.

I bought my LY200 about 6 weeks ago and have exactly the same problem ! I changed the spark plugs and coils thinking that would be a good starting point , fuel filter was next , who's best for mapping in north east or Yorkshire ? Cheers.

They all do it, unfortunately a trait of the 197/200. Heat and time cures it!

had one done at efi a few weeks ago. the red was on standard map.

I’d like to have mine remapped too. Not just for the kangarooing but also to smooth out the acceleration which isn’t as smooth as I remember my 172 being.

Will a single remap/chip (not sure the right terminology) sort out both. If so what is i ask for and to whom?

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

It’s the engine stabiliser mount on the top of the engine, the rubber perishes .

Just spoke to empire. They would tune it from scratch circa £300. Presumably it’s cheaper if someone already has a chip...? What should I be paying?

Engine dynamics provide a custom service for an open ended £300 - cost what it takes to get right.

Zensport who I’m told are a file factory for quantum tuning @ £253 inc VAT.

Engine dynamics are proper Renault specialists and they are just as respected as RS Tuning and EFI when it comes to mapping. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of going elsewhere considering how close you are to them.

Good to hear, tho he told me he’d not done a RS200 before and his Facebook page comments are largely Land Rover clients. I’ll let you all know how it goes.

Sorry I’ve gone off piste somehow and ended up with a different tuner! I’ll start again - this time paying attention to what google maps throws up. Thanks chaps. If the word plonker is topmost in your thoughts right now you’ll get no argument from me.

Mapping done and 2nd gear kangarooing gone. Also, it drives much better now. Much smoother through the gears. Well worth the £270.
