Simple, don't go to ktec. Shockingly bad at mapping, do a search.
On a mk2 you could tell by an increased rev limit, don't think that's the case on a mk3.
I've done mine with an rs tuner. When you plug one if that on it you can read the ecu log. It shows what firmware it's running with a time/date stamp of when it was done.
That's how Renault can tell what it's running, or if it's been modified.

I can do a custom map for you at £250 including an engine health check. I did another one this week, his thread was in this section somewhere.
Where abouts you live Dan? I'm in south west. Where do you do the mapping too?
I'm based in street. I do datalogging on the road then make the changes where required, another datalog, changes. And so on until I'm happy with it.
