iam getting itb`s and remap?? should solve the problem. in getting them yet but going to do the job over the weekend just want some info in before hand. iam getting henk from RS-tuner to create me a mapp ive been sending him different data logs. so that should do for the time beening.

HOPEFULLY

so what do you think of sound.

iam getting a throttle body conversion + remap. but iam not getting them until june/july sometime but iam wanting to sort the exhaust out this weekend. so iam asking what people think about doing this before i do it.

as for the flat spot ive got a rs tuner and the lad who does the remaps and stuff is going to sort the flat spots out as i have been sending him data logs of my car so he can see the difference before and after the rest of the exhaust is removed. then he will create a new map for me.

Think there may be some confusion, so that plan is to have a straight pipe form the mainifold to the backbox?

TBH I wouldn't bother unless you are planning to fit an ECU out of a cup racer or you will get the mother of all flatspots. Gains you can expect will be under 10ps for the complete system, ecu and remap.

I would imagine it will be rediculously loud (even the cup racers have silencers now dont they?), if you don't get pulled for how much noise it makes you will be very lucky.

Whos doing teh TB's? 40 is high.

The ECU can't sort out everything, really you want an exhaust specialist to get the diameter of the pipe right, then use the ecu tuning to smooth it out.

well iam going to do the exhaust myself ive getting a hold of the 304/306 stainless like the milltek system uses also same diameter and i work in a metal fab shop so iam sure all be able to make summit work. lol a dont no fingers crossed.

Paul cant even map mine out on the rollers and if he cant...... its just one of those things!! Even the cup racers have cats!! :S

they would'nt if they were allowed to drive without mate.. Even the racers (Cup) have emissions to take in account. As for the silencers, same story. We have a track in Zandvoort where they have a certain amount of Decibel (very little) that's allowed. Even an open style airfilter could be a problem for some teams because of decibel limitations. In this case for example the team i know put on the V6 airbox to get the noise down a bit.

When i bought my Cup from a guy who had plans to track the car i also got his orbisoud exhaust. He also gave me an extra silencer that he bought because it was needed for some of the tracks he told me

Franx, thanks for that mate!!!

I was talking about the flatspots, how do you propose they are mapped out or resolved as its an issue with just a primary decat!!

Ollie, dont you get massive flatspots mate? Or have you got the 1st cat in still??

  Clio RS 197
i still have the pre-cat becuase thats built into the zorst manifold.

i was thinking about getting another manifold and removing it.

would be loud then though.

its loud now hehe.

i do have a small flat spot but hardly noticible.

Actually i think the flat spot will be more pronounced when removing the Manifold-cat

I have heard Henk speaking about the 2500 flatspot on the 197 , not much to be done bout it.

Only when running ITB's or in the like it will be good to remove the cat so it can be mapped for max- in + max- out (?) This is something i thought up myself btw.. seems logical

  Renaultsport Clio 197
only way to avoid flatspots with a straight-through system is with a standalone ECU (omex etc).

that + ITB's should be good.

And yes, it will be ridiculously loud.Too loud for my liking but hey

How would getting an aftermarket ECU aid the flatspot situation?

@B16 OJB - Custom manifold jobby sounds good...not seen that done before on any RS Clio but would be hell of a job as it is engine job out iirc. (read that somewhere on here.) Loving the system you made though, sounds ace =)

tar fella!

i just would mind the pre-cat out too but i dunno what that would do to torque ect...

If you take the primary cat off you'll regret it lol, i have enough trouble with only taking the secondary off, but damn it would sound nice!

I've got no centre box on my system ( yozzasport ) and thats loud enough, can even spit a lil blue flame out the back on rare occassions :p

You gotta floor it in first right up to the limiter then dump the clutch and let the revs drop as fast as poss, and you'll get a lil spit of flame out the left hand tailpipe ;)
