is this a good price??
i have no idea about the value of engines,

its basically a clio 172
sawn in half,

so engine, ecu, loom, gearbox,
driveshafts, front suspension,
steering, brakes,

also the dash, with the clocks,

no rims, no bodywork,
no seats,

was quoted £1000+vat for the above from a scrap yard,
is this a good price??

I wouldn't have said it was a bargain. Probably about the going rate, if it was from a fairly low mileage example.

  330i. E30 Touring.
All depends on condition.

When you consider you can pick up a whole car for £1500 now!

Yeh its a good price providing it runs - pay for it by credit card - not cash and def not debit card

hard to tell the condition,
its a 53 plate clio, and im assuming average millage,

though all the damage was front end, and its been rolled,
so that might give an idea as to how it was driven,
obvioulsy only a very rough idea,

is it reasonable to expect them to put a battery in it and prove that its running before stumping up,

and why on credit card only??
incase it doesnt run?

If thats what you want them to do before you stump up the money then why not?

Guessing with you asking this question your going to be paying someone to fit it on top of that price?

If this is the case, dont bother, sell yours and buy a 172. As already stated they start from 1500 notes for the complete car!

By the time youve bought the engine, got someone to fit it, and spent money on those little extra's it will be topping 2k
