Right he said to plate and fill the drivers door handle and lock he wants £75 + vat and to respray it £500 on the side. So thats the new plan to get the door smoothed with the popper fitted for fcs10 and shortly after that get the respray done. Its like fate really that the guy didnt sell me the golf as i wouldnt of really looked into finishing it. Updates will be coming end of april! Im sorry if i let the side down

ive got to see if its extra to go a differnet colour is its not to much ill get the brown done. I will be keeping it yes! As soon as the doors done i will update with pics and of the popper. It will also be at fcs10. Ive worked it out that i can have the respray done end of June. Ready for the summer sun!

Getting it booked in at ics on loughborough road for the door popper to be supplied and fitted. There using 2 clifford door poppers for the drivers door and wiring the switch i have threw the mirror for £150+vat. Car electronics on welford road quoted £250+vat. The poppers will be fitted at the end of the month. I may enquire about getting the boot done also while im there as im sick of climing over the rear seats and pulling the rod to open the boot lol! I shall keep you posted.

Run your own special boot lever to somewhere down the right hand side of the drivers door? It'll look like an ejecter seat pullie or something

Lol robbos, its going to be wired upto the rear wiper using the wiper motor wires. Ive never ever touched my rear wiper so theres no danger of me flicking it whilst driving. This weekend im going to give her a service.

4 spark plugs,
Air filter housing and filter,
n/s & o/s wishbones,
n/s & o/s driveshafts,
front n/s & o/s wheel bearing kits
h7 yellow 55w bulbs (Had to come from malaysia)
hb3 yellow 55w bulbs (Had to come from america)
Im also fitting the passenger doorcard back on as its been left off for months and give her a good clean inside and out although atm its like polishing a turd.

20 quid says that as soon as you wire it up you flick the rear wiper on by accident when your on the motor way or something!! But it will be wicked!

Just seen this and thought you might like to see it. Not sure how he managed to get a mk2 bumper on there! Dont like the headlights or badboy but the rest is pretty cool.
Glad youre keeping the car, would have been a shame to let someone else finish it!

Had a good day on it today cleaning.
Decided to fit the new air filter housing/filter. old broken one vs new shiny one
When i removed the hoses there was all poop inside so they had a bath and a clean. Throttle bodie had also seen better days so cleaned that up also.
My yellow hb3's arived today from america so i fitted them with my yellow h7's
I then cleared all the crap out of the car and gave it a real good clean. it was due one tbf as i havnt done it since november. Feels so much better to be in and smells awesome now i have my californa car scent (cheery)
Tomorow im going to give the outside a real good clean and polish the wheels. Il update with pics!

the clio wears brown well, it's a good choice and will work well imo, i guess this is nearer to what you are aiming for as i had a different take on euro in mind when i was suggesting wing mirrors.

Gave her a really good clean today not that it shows it.

got back from ics in leicester and ive got it booked in on the 28th for the following work....
Install 2 clifford door poppers on the drivers door and wire my tvr switch under the mirror.
Install my anderson leads (as a battery fail safe) from the battery and behin the bumper.
Re-wire my electric window switches and extend them to fit the phase 2 switches.
All done for £220ish inc vat. Ill upload pics asap of the parts i have .

Just got back from ics in leicester. Very happy with the work. I had my clifford door popper fitted to the drivers door and my tvr switch mounted under the mirror to pop it. I also had my electric window switches modified to take the phase 2 switches and also had my fail safe anderson leads made. In all it cost £250 inc v.a.t and parts which i think is a cracking price for the work. It also took them longer than the quoted hours but the kept to the original quote price Heres some pics....

The clifford solenoid. They also had to modify the spring in the locking mech so once the car is locked it carnt be popped...
The custom anderson lead mounted under the bumper next to the horn and jump leads...
The electric window re-wiring which they said was a real pain but they work 100%
Im going into the bodyshop tomorow and fingers crossed the havnt got much on as i really want it doing for this weekend. ive re-fitted the other doorcard and have finally got front speakers again after not having them in for 6 months

Update....
a couple of weeks ago i stumbled across a bargain. Ive been after a daily run around for a while and when this cropped up i couldnt refuse.
Its a 1.3 escort 1987 popular and its mint. It only has 1 lady owner from new and 33,000 on! I payed the bargain price of £300!! Heres some pics in my lock up....
Everything is completley standard. It has tax and mot till end of july aswell so after fcs this is going to be the daily. i made some new plates up at work and got some new wiper blades (front wiper arms are currentley off as im going to spray them) I also got some silver wheel paint from work to respray the original steelies.
My cars going into the bodyshop hopefully tomorow or tuesday to finish off the door. After that it will be going as it is to fcs. After fcs is when the project becomes full on! I will update once the doors done.
