CAT and registration

Whens the latest ur car can be registered before it has to av a CAT, coz i jus looked at my vehicle registration and mine was registered in 1/12/92

i know that its 1992 but not sure which month it started!

help!

Well, any car can not have a CAT, as long as it passes Emissions Tests!

...but if its before 1992, it dont matter either way.. hehe.

Yours should be alright anyway, its after Aug 92 that cars had to have cats on wasnt it? Cant be too much for an emissions test, or you could just wait until the MOT and see if it passes.. Thats what Im doing anyway.

my old clio rt was a K reg and that had a cat , and i was told that it would fail its mot without the cat,but on my 1995 valver i got it de-catted bcos ive got 1 years mot , so ill just get the cat back on for its mot , simple as !

As Daz said, you dont actually need a CAT to pass the MOT, as long as you pass the emissions.

Its a myth that you need to have a CAT fitted.

Oh thats good then , ill just get an emissions test before my next mot , make sure its all legal

if u fail an MOT they normally retest it for free!

how else could u keep the emissions down witout a CAT?

Or just take it to a "special" test centre who dont test your emissions hehe
