Carbon cannister lines used for fuel

I have a williams f7r fitted to my mark 2 phase 2. Was running it with a blocked fuel return due to being lazy and not running a return line and using a 172 pump ( which i know have) however i have thought could i used the carbon cannister line as a fuel return as it goes back to the tank?

If it is gas tight it must be liquid tight? and is the same material hose + thickness.

Or would this stop the tank from breathe thus cause explosion.
