Car cuts out after 2 minutes when first started

I have had my clio off the road for a couple of months due to having a company car now i have got rid of the company car im back in the 172 and recently its started chugging and idling rough and after 2 minutes of it running from first starting up the car will cut out!? plus when you drive it from when its just been started up it hesitates and when you put your foot down it seems to pull back really bad and also does it at 4k on the rev range as the power would come!? but once its warmed up fully it seems to clear and the car seems to run okay, does anyone have any ideas or help would be gratefully accepted.

cheers pal, but i don't get an engine management light come on in my car and it almost completely clears when the cars warm, its just really bad when the car is cold and when i leave the car running for about 2-5 mins before i drive it sometimes the car cuts out and i have to start it again.
