Cam Cover Gasket has minor leak. Please help

  EDC 220 Trophy
I had a interim service done not so long ago and I was advised that the Cam Cover Gasket has minor leak into cylinder 3 and 4??

I have my timing and Aux belt change due on friday also, would it be worth asking the guy to take alook whilst he is in there?

Any advice would be appreciated. Clio Sport 172. 53 plate

Im sure theres a simple way of fixing it but it may only last temporary, you can use sealant on it, im sure if you need it properly sorting it cost a fair bit of £££

are you sure it's not just loose spark plugs? cam cover doesn't have a gasket mate, so unless it's been disturbed for some reason (if they haven't been removed before they need prising off). Pics would be useful

Cam covers leaking is really common, if the belts are getting done than this would be a easy job to sort out at the same time. However it doesnt have a gasket its just sealed with silicon so be sure he means the cam cover not the Head gasket. Also I hope the garage that are doing the belts have the correct locking tools.

Thanks for the reply chaps.

Just looking over the invoice for the service and he has definately written cam cover gasket leak to cylinder 3 & 4. Im no mechanical clued up fella, but I asked my mate who works for AA and he said you were bound to have a little oil on your spark plugs and nothing to worry about.

It not like there is oil leaking on the pavement or anything, so I guess its more seeping.

Just though Id ask since the engine is gunna be opened up on friday.

Cheers for the advice Spank-It. Yeah the place im taking it to is Renault specialist. He has confimed he has correct locking tools. Ive done my homework on that one. I'm being charged appox £515 inc VAT for the job, which seems about right. I don't want to be skimping on the cost, want a proper job doing.
