Had a problem with my ns rear caliper sticking, with a bit of help and guidance I changed the caliper to one of my freshly referbed ones and fitted the new oe brembo discs and pads

I then fitted a few of my polybushed bits:

Going to try and diagnose the problem tomorrow before work or if we have no luck i'll be taking the box out and sending it off to a specialist to get fixed.

Unlucky with the breakdown pal. How long did it take to get recovered home from there?

I was quite lucky only took around 4 hours. Broke down at half 5 and got home for around half 9

So today with a bit of help we got the box out, noticed the clutch was on its last legs and a track rod was too so ordered all new parts and waiting on them arriving.

Box oil was a little bit black gold...

So box has been sent off to a gearbox specialist local to me so they can find and fix the reason it's stuck in gear.

So this morning at 9am I got a call off Stephen A Brear Gearboxes Leeds who opened up the box to find the issue.

The box was stuck in fifth and had welded itself there 🤦‍♂️
So needs a pair of main shaft bearings, fifth gear collar and hub, 3rd & 4th selector fork and they also recommended i get upgraded diff bolts.

Going to be a costly repair!

So today I collected/received all the parts ready to fix the car
  1. Fixed gearbox,
  2. New valeo clutch with uprated bearing
  3. Skimmed flywheel (Had burn marks)
  4. Track rod for both sides from @renaultpartsdirect
  5. Box oil from @renaultpartsdirect
  6. New ns driveshaft from J&R

christ that's f**king minging!!!!! they never heard of a parts wash.
THIS!!

If someone rebuilding a gearbox doesn't at least sling the casing in the dishwasher then they've done a pretty terrible job. What's the point in putting something together really nice and clean when you're constantly touching a grubby oily casing:cautious: Clean it while it's out and easier and then it makes a customer look like you give a shade of a s**t

A few little things arrived today,

Anthracite washer hoses to replace the boring black OE ones

As well as these clips as mine had disappeared, look great with the new slam panel seal:

The little changes make the biggest differences eventually...

You'll not be shaken to death by purple arb bushes mate. Saying that if your standard ones have lasted 10+ years is there really a need for poly bushes🤔.

No probably not, to be honest I look at the perished ones and think can I be bothered lying on a damp floor changing them right now.

Tomorrow i'm going down to Santa Pod for one of the Last RWYB's of the year so been prepping the car today.
