Blue smoke under heavy acceleration

  BG182 Cup, Discovery
Coming home from work tonight and overtook my friend n he said my car was kicking out blue smoke! It's a 182 with 85k, and has full service history, I have noticed some black spots on the back of my car but thought it was jst sooty water from when I washed it, anyone had these symptoms? Or any idea of what could be causing this?

Blue is oil in the combustion chamber so most likely cause is going to be piston rings I'm afraid to say.

Are you sure it was blue?! And not just condensation due to water in the exhaust?! Is it using oil at all?

micks correct if it genuinely is blue, but your mate could be colour blind.
