Blowing.

Recently my exhaust has started blowing and it sounds like it's coming from the front end of the car.

It's quite a loud blow and sounds like a helicopter blade spinning.

Would I be correct in assuming it is more than likely a downpipe?

If so, how easy a job is it to repair/weld? Adam from Ren Wolves quoted me £600 for a new one.

Cheaper to get an aftermarket exhaust imo, but finding where the hole is first would be a good idea!

I was thinking about the whole aftermarket idea but I quite like the standard. Just wondered if (it is the downpipe?) would be an easy enough fix.

Most Likely the flexi, very common on the 197's to go, not cheap either, as said go aftermarket!

I was quoted £450 for it to be sorted with an aftermaket one, although i don't have a 197 no more lol, But it could vary depending on what is wrong, could be flexi, could be manifold crack? need to get under and have a butchers - then get a to a specialist to see what they will charge?
