big end bearing!!

has anyone had this done on their valver?? i know its kinda a big job, does anyone know roughly how much it costs to get replaced?? mine has started knocking like a mo fo, had to get a tow from the rac yesterday!

the car has done 85k, i only bought the car a month ago, im havin all sorts of problems with it!

Chances are that if the big ends have failed to the point that the engine is knocking that the crank will also be damaged. We usually find that when the bearing heats the crank they will bend slighty as well. I would strip the engine out and down and have the crank checked before you spend time and money on replacing the bearing. It may be cheaper to buy a 16v engine second hand or even a Williams engine.
