Lower miles, better condition Trophy is up for £23k currently. As above 12-15k, anymore and the bidder is mugging themselves off.
Needs the Sachs shocks rebuilt, belts and dephaser, tyres, headlight resto, full detail and anything else that pops up.

Little confusing why a new heater control is included, and I very much hope that cheap pattern exhaust isn't used.

I wonder how many of these so called finds are the ones that got heavily damaged when they were only a year or two old?
One event at Cadwell three got trashed & I know of several that were solely used for track day, one owner low mileage ;)

As the vehicle has been standing for nearly 4 years, it will require trailering away

I’m sorry but if you want top money, the car needs to be in absolutely top condition. I’m in no doubt it’ll sell for good money but i’d be prepping the car to a high standard for the big bucks.

For fear of sounding like a broken record, any engine sat unused for that long that isn't in a climate controlled environment surely will be in a poor state internally. Correct me if I'm wrong

Whoever buys it won’t care. It won’t get driven. My bet is it will get snapped up by one of the specialists, get recommissioned and then sold for big bucks to a collector who will put it in their garage and forget about it.

I’d buy it for £13k. I think it will need at least £4K spending on it to get it ‘right’ and then it’s a £25,000 car.

take your £2,500 vat out, then your £4K, then your collection costs and sundries and you might clear £5k profit. That’s a s**t load of work just to earn £5k.

Sadly, not everyone does things properly and it will probably have a hash of a cambelt, a shitty headlight refurb and then smeared with buffer trails and punted on to some victim. But I hope not. It needs doing properly, it could be a really special car.

And it's still a red 182 with fancy shocks

A Barn find for me is this -

View attachment 1565501

Not a Clio that someone knows its there and its been sat for 4 years with its last MOT in 2018

If it was still sitting in there until 2035 then maybe.
Better?

I would laugh if this sold for more than the one sitting on eBay for £23k

Wonder if the seller of that one would change his price

Seller bought it 4 years ago and its sat in his friends unit since and hasnt turned a wheel in those 4 years. His friend is now moving units and he has got the car back and decided to cash in. There is just the 1st original owner on the logbook the seller never changed ownership to his name when he bought it.

I think it will do 17-19k.

for me, this is the wrong way to go. Why people dont just keep them ticking over and mot’d every year is beyond me. It is way more appealing to see an annual mot since new. As mentioned above, something missing mot’s for years just rings alarm bells.
my 182 sits in my garage and gets taken out every week or so just to keep everything running. It only covered 300 miles last year but its still serviced as it should be and mot’d every year.

Around 1hour 30min to go on this.

Wonder if that’s the bidding stopped and went stale or if there is going to be a wee rush towards the last 10min
