Aux Belt - Is this normal?

Hi Cliosport. Long time no speak!

Looking under the engine on the 172 I noticed you can still see the bottom of the Aux belt. Am I missing a cover as there seem to be holes for something!?!?!

Yes there is meant to be a cover there but 50% of them don't have it anyway.

Best to have a cover on it. If a twig/stone/somalian gets trapped on the pully it can pull the belt off and throw the cambelt off.

Very small chance but for the sake of a £15 cover i'd rather fit a cover! lol.

182s had more sound deadening there. It normally rubs on the pulley and sometimes the belt so I don't refit them. Not needed.
