Anyone running a Torsen Diff & 5.25 Final Drive?



Wanting more track performance from the Clio but just cant justify the costs of cams, ITB, turbo etc. So my thinking is the above set-up on standard engine with a EFI basic remap coupled to intake and exhaust only. My box is in need of a rebuild so whilst that would be getting done I'd have someone fit the diff & FD, @NorthloopCup? I'd be wanting the M Factory package of Torsen Diff and 5.25 FD for reference, see below.

So who's ran this type of set-up (@bashracing), and how would it compare to say an ITB'd Clio with standard box on track?

Mine was a gripper with 5.25 CWP built by mark (Northloop), it was f**king mental on the hillclimb considering it was only running 438 cams and some koni adjustables, no other Clio could get near it.
Check your gearing requirements on track though as with standard 1*2 ratios it will top out at 113 ish @7500 in 5th

Might struggle with a 113 top speed at some tracks yeah. I'll have to re-think it then, maybe 197/200 cams and diff then.

113 ish in 5th! Can do that now in 4th pretty much.

Will be too short that.

Can't wait for my box with diff to be done.

Would just get away with it at Oulton, but not at Aintree and most other decent UK tracks.

You not fancy Aintree in May?

Would be close, as i'm hitting 110 on the clocks at Oulton. Actual speed will be less with the accuracy of the clocks.

What date is it?
