Lots of bits done on both cars!
Replaced the B pillar trims on the 200 with some CF vinyl - not concours but a welcome improvement.
Cleaned scuttle area on the 200 and cleaned drain holes (can’t do this on the 172 as the NS wiper arm won’t budge)
New filter on the 172 with a bracket to hold the intake pipe securely - the old filter was properly fecked - suspect this may have been down to the pipe moving around.
And lastly gave the 172 a wash and wax for the Goodwood Breakfast Club tomorrow as I somehow wangled a pass ?

Been a while!
Not much to report with the 172 - I’ve SORN’d her, partly as I tend not use her much while there’s salt on the roads and more so I’ve changed jobs and haven’t worked full time for a few weeks so watching pennies.
I’ve returned to my roots in the classic and specialist vehicle insurance sector (did it for 23 years before starting up my detailing business) and as a result needed something to munch the miles - so the 200 was traded for a Leon FR diesel. Basically the same as the Octavia I ran a few years ago. Does everything better than my 200 apart from handing which can easily be remedied....
The 172 will be getting dragged out again soon and I’ll begin some more work on it.

And she’s awake. Reinsured yesterday and storage dust washed off. Rear arches are going to need some TLC so that’ll be a project at the end of the year. Debating removing back seats as they’ve been used once in almost 3 years. Nothing else massive planned immediately - but I’m going to put some miles on her during 2019 with the Mrs up for a trip to Scotland later in the year and lots of meets in the meantime. Use or sell up is the way I see it.

Im the same mate with the rear seats,im going to remove mine later this year and board/carpet the rear,as back seats never get used, also were a dog at some point. So will be perfect for the dog to jump in the back, along with some clubsport seats will be perfect.

Productive day. Back seats removed and all belts. Few kilos off and not as noisy as I’d expected. Extended carpet ordered.

Full length rear carpet added, bit of sound deadening beneath to make it slightly less noisy inside. 300 mile round trip to Caffeine & Machine, Perfectly Cleaned and Bicester Heritage averaging 36mpg. Next job is straightening out the jacking points, wiring up the spoiler stop light and clearing the airbag light for the MOT next month.

Been a bit quiet here lately.
Rear wheels refurbed as they’d started flaking on the spokes and I managed to clip a kerb avoiding a van (honest..!)
Coated and refitted and recoated the fronts while I was at it and also repainted the calipers as they were looking tired. Carbon Collective with Coating Farm on the barrels - new ceramic and apparently 9H so should be half decent.

Trip up to Caffeine & Machine last weekend. Third visit and even better at a weekend. If you haven’t been yet, we’ll worth the trip ?
Renaultsport day hence the volume of cars there and the highlight for me was seeing Mark’s stunning RB in the metal - perfection.
Journey back spoilt by the “38mph everywhere” brigade and I only broke out of traffic at Wantage - a blast across the downs made up for the sheer ball ache. 11 miles of empty and fast flowing B roads.
Got a few small projects on the go - mostly cosmetic touches.

Oh and put my plate on too. Mildly arrogant now after seeing some of the genuinely mint cars at the weekend but it’s on and she scrubs up ok.

Wrapped my dash trims today. Made a tit of it last time but better quality vinyl and a bit of patience and happy days.

Made up some new kick plates too - not 100% on these and still need finishing with some PPF before I decide whether to fit them.

Smoothing a spare set of bullets next which will be painted satin black and have some new style RS logos - again not 100% but will finish them first.

Thanks gents! Sadly the sill plates may have gone slightly s**t. Bought some “PPF” on amazon and it went on ok but is drying like that funky Lamborghini carbnoado ? could be worse...

Private car gathering in Belgravia today. Clio stuck out like a sore thumb ?
Met some proper petrolheads and the icing on the cake was a gent in a 488 telling me he loved the Clio as I headed out of town on the A4. Happy days!

Kickplates v2. Much happier with these. Used a spare set I had locking about, removed the old style silver RS trim (just a big sticker), used some of the same vinyl as the dash trims and added some new style RS stickers. Couple of coats of 9H ceramic coating for a bit of protection and they’ll be going back on shortly.

I’ve also smoothed down and primed my spare bullets before paint and finishing.

Fitted the door sill plates and happy with how they’ve turned out.

Sadly at the same time I was doing this, one of our cats was knocked over and killed about 400 yards from my garage. Had no idea until the vet called. Absolutely gutted. Sleep well Poppy ?

? Sorry to hear about Poppy. At least whoever hit her had the decency to take her to the vet. We lost our cat twice, when she went out and never came back and two years later when the vet rang and said someone had found her dead and fetched her in. I feel your pain mate.

Sill plates look good(y).

Sadly the c**t who hit her drove off leaving another motorist the unpleasant task of rushing her to the vet by which time she’d gone. Luckily he left his details so we were able to contact him to say thanks. Some comfort that someone have a toss in her final moments I guess.

Last project for now. Spare bullets didn’t work as the filler kept sinking so sourced some Campus ones. Rubbed down, plastic primed then Ford graphite. Stickers stuck and satin laquered.

Really pleased with how they’ve turned out - just how I wanted.

Couple of interior bits next then just drive and enjoy ?

Very nice original touches you've added there Andy. It's all in the details as they say?. I expect the sill protectors and bullits will be copied once the Facebook lot catch a glimpse.
