well time to replace the gearbox sensor as speedo just works when it feels like it....so am i right that thinking this is my sensor thats going in the the gearbox. it has like some sort of metal heat cover that just click onto it..

also what (tools) are required to remove it.

You're right,

Shield should pop off and the sensor will take a good pull to release.

o.k cheers gonna be ordering one asap, i will have to unplug the wire thats connected to the sensor first of cause, then just pull the sensor out of the box then yh. so the sensor dont need unscrewing or nothing just dont wont to be snaping any thing...

Open bonnet.
Roll up sleeves.
un-plug sensor.
un clip heat shiled.
Pull sensor like mad! Mine was tight.
No screws, no glue, just the Force.
Push new one in.
Refit heat shield.
Refit plug.
Close bonnet.
Wash hands.

so no need to dissconnect battery for this then no. just that some time i here it best to dissconnect to be on the safe side if most thing are unpluged...dont wont any light popping up on the dash now lol...
