Didnt see these comments

What's the mileage on it?

At the time you asked it was 36k. Now nearing 38k.

Actually beautiful, it suits having no rear spoiler and I don't usually say that, *cough* GT.

It still bemuses me why this thread is in Clio Media and not Projects, lol.

At the time I posted it I had no real intensions of modding it like I have.

If someone higher up could move it to the project section it'd be great.

Another little update.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a spare Akrapovic centre section (With silencer) with the intention of getting rid of the silencer and sticking it on the car. Had it fitted a week past on Friday but its coming off on Thursday. Is just too loud for day to day driving which is slightly disappointing and there is a pretty major flatspot. Anyhoo! It turns out the exhaust on the track sounds superb Attended a Knockhill track evening on Thursday. You get none of that constant drone and never feel the flat spot as the revs are always up.

As for the track evening? Was less than impressed with a lot of the others' driving (Refusal to let cars past etc) but the 200 was superb, though I did forget to lift my tyre pump which meant after a while the tyres got a little too hot to cope. Rate of fuel consumption was 50 litres burned through in 56 minutes of track driving. :p

One wee guy did ask me the question, is that the Clio from Togear?

Anyhow some pics (Though the are not very good):

I do have vids on my GoPro but watching them back I found I never got any clear laps so no point in sticking them up.

They are working now lol.

Pics look great. Love the colour.

I wanted to go to that evening session at Knockhil, but my brakes were not fitted in time :( Hopefully be at the next one in May.

You didnt miss much tbh. People kept slowing and moving over in places where they shouldn't have been ie. in the corners and not the straights therefore queues of cars massing behind them. Then you had the folk that just wouldnt get out of the way. To pass on the straights with the Clio you need some help for the slower guys in front moving over and slowing down. But no they blasted up the straights and slowed for the corners where we caught up. Repeat this for the full session pretty much. A guy in a red 911 Turbo and a 420BHp (Allegedly) MR2 were the biggest culprits for this.

I left when one of the Fiesta ST race cars binned it at the chicane.

I've got a few pics of you that I'll post in here tonight mate. Waved when you went past in be paddock but never saw you to chat to!

That would be superb if you could stick them up.

I left after the red flag for the ST crash as I thought it would be a while tidying up the mess, and I needed petrol.

Spent Saturday lowering and washing the green one. Absolutely beautiful day so naturally I'm now sunburnt lol.

Anyway. Now the rears are as low as they'll go. The fronts were lowered to "suit". Really love the look of it and she still manages not to scrape on speedbumps. Geometry is being setup at some point during the week in preparation for the Clio197.net How Fast? events on Saturday.

Stunning! Really love that. My only criticism is it could do with a spoiler with abit of a lip on :quiet:

Looks great! Does need a spoiler of some sort though, IMO.

I go through phases of liking/wanting a Sprint spoiler but if I was to fit it and then grow to dislike it (Like I did with the old Cup spoiler) and have to get the tailgate repaired again the wife would linch me lol.

  Audi A5
Haha!

I can't decide on a spoiler either, gt or spint for me though, cup spoiler is just a bit too much imo.

Attended the Clio200.net How Fast? event on Saturday. A wee blurb copy and pasted over from there:

Little update/blog post How Fast?

The little green one performed flawlessly the 370 miles down to Bedford, the 370 miles back from Bedford and the hammering she received at Bedford. Managed to get down on one tank however the pace was much quicker on the return journey so used 1.25 tanks.

The day didnt start off to good. When convoying to the Autodrome Ashley (AGPEsseEsse) pulled alongside and said I had a wobbly rear driver side wheel. This obviously is worrying at the time but after some investigation (And with the help on MikeH's jack) I had it nipped up and ready to rock. As the wheel is relatively new they are still quite tight when putting on the hubs but got it sorted not long after the first session began.

Look at all these Clios:

8925711912_b615571bf9_b.jpg

The event then started with sign on as usual then we had the Palmersport factory tour which was superb, then the highly embarrassing birthday cake presentation:

8926667306_01e6144260_b.jpg

Cool cake:

8921334031_6cd32aed4d_b.jpg

We then had the drivers briefing and went straight over to the west circuit pits (No time to eat cake unfortunately).

Lined up waiting to do the "sighting laps" behind the X5:

8925120307_4489be6df2_b.jpg

As above, had to fix my "wobbly wheel" before I could think about heading out. Once fixed I grabbed my instructor Pat and headed out for my first experience of Bedford West. Glad I had tuition as I definitely wouldn't have driven the car/track as hard as I did. Think it was Roger200 that said after my first 5 laps (Thats all Pat said I needed) I had already beaten Fernandez's best time from last year (Not bragging here but that was on a full tank to lol).

Anyhoo! Adjusted the tyre pressures after dropping Pat off and Gregg asked for some passenger laps. Did quite a few whilst getting more and more familiar with the track, to the point I missed the tight chicane on the back straight from just going too late on the brakes lol.

Dropped Gregg off in the pits, adjusted pressures once more and went out for the first time on my own. Really got to put the hammer down and found myself using getting quicker everywhere particularly the first chicane where I was hitting the limiter in 3rd and leaving it there but then found that catching 4th quickly then stamping (And I mean stamping hard) the brakes was so much quicker.

The first timed session was done on 3 quarters of a tank and managed a 1.29.2 (0.6 seconds faster than my best from the practice). This was good enough to beat Mentalpen (2nd place) by 2.2 seconds.

First practice and timed sessions:

8928182243_33f505aa37_b.jpg

The second practice session found me improving my times yet again. I put this down to the fuel burning off. Managed to nip under the 1.29 second mark which pleased me. I knew Kenny (Ashton) was gonna be good so kept battering around finding ways to improve my lap times.

The second timed session was done with 0.3 of a tank of fuel and managed a 1.28.6 which was 0.2 slower than I had managed in the second practice but still enough to beat Ashton (2nd place) by a few hundreds under 2 seconds.

Where did the time come from? I say the majority of it was the tyres. I was the only 1 running semi-slicks and from being followed by Ashton, he wasn't far off on the AD08s.

Second practice and timed sessions:

Blurry pic but I think the car looks quite mean:

The winner and his beast:

Will stick my favorite pics up from the photographers tomorrow once they are all uploaded.

Today I swapped the wheels back over to my other OZ Ultras equipped with Yoko AD08s in order to keep the A048s good for their next test which may well be the next How Fast? event. Also gave her a good wash to get rid of the thousands of dead bugs off the front. See here for how bad it was:

8929176355_7c61f2f72f_b.jpg

Also have my 2nd timed session video uploading to YT but its taking ages to get there. Will stick that up when its done.

Cheers.

Theres not many angles from the front where the 200 looks good but I'll agree this one works well.

Debated starting a completely new thread but thought I'd just add to the end of this one since I find myself in another AG 200.

This is my 3rd one. This thread was for the original but I did also have another one from Feb '16 until Feb '17 but as a daily with a new born we decided to sell it. Gus on here bought it. I picked this one (My 3rd) up the Friday before Christmas and love it so far. It does have some aftermarket bits already:
  • KTR cat back
  • KTR remap
  • Cooksport springs
  • V6 airbox (Battery in boot)
  • KTR discs all around
  • Retrimmed Recaros
  • RS spolier & skirts
  • Eibach spacers
Cleared the garage out so that I can fit the Clio in when it's not in use and have started so personalise it (to me). First thing was to fit some projector headlights. The headlights it came with let in A LOT of water so they had to be changed. It was the only blemish I found with the car. 2nd thing was to remove the wheel spacers. This turned out harder than expected and had to buy a Dewalt impact gun to assist.

The first modification I bought were new wheels. I like the Speedlines but always hankered after these which were always out of my price range but got them from Rentune in January:

49497169951_563d51887f_b.jpg

Took too long to decide which tyres to fit and now being in lockdown has meant I can't get the tyres I want fitted at the place I want :(

Latest bits arrived a few days ago. A smaller battery as the one currently fitted in the boot is huge and some PFC 330mm 2-piece discs with some DS1.11 pads:

20200407_162419.jpg

20200407_163207.jpg

These will be fitted next week at some point.

The car:

Painted the rusty rear hubs and some studs and nuts kit. Will be replacing the rear calipers at some point as they look a wee bit tatty.

I do have a trackday booked at Knockhill on 8th May but can't imagine it'll go ahead but all I can do is make sure the car is ready just in case.

Plans are to keep it nice and add to it as and when I can. I want a Pure Motorsport exhaust system for it (Manifold, Sports cat, Resonator and rear section) as well as coilovers (Split between ASTs and KW Clubsports).

So yes. I am a sucker for an AG 200 :D

So I finally managed to get the first trackday with this 200 yesterday. The weather in the morning for the motorbike session was horrific but by the time our session came around (2pm) the track conditions were perfect. The car was flawless. I was careful with it being my first outing in the car (And my very own first trackday in over 5 years). I did take the GoPro but got caught up in the moment and didn't take it out of the glovebox

Ran the Cups at 36 psi hot all afternoon and they were awesome. Not quite R888 or A048 levels of grip but decent none-the-less. The pressures do quickly balloon and you can feel that through lack of grip but after a few hot laps, pit, hot laps, pit they settled out. I did find the car did roll/lean a bit more than I experienced in the last 2 cars I had tracked so maybe the Cooksport springs do need to be changed at some point for coilovers?

For those wondering why I'm always turning left? Knockhill can be run in reverse direction :ROFLMAO:

There were only 7 cars on the day that were quicker than the 200 which had me very surprised (GT3RS, Mad fast supercharged Jag, 2 x GTRs, Porsche GTS, Evo and one of the Caterham type cars). The day was less than ideal for one of the M140i owners that had an off and damaged his car and very nearly ended badly for me. I moved over on the main straight to allow the Evo past me but as he was alongside the ran out of brakes and locked them up hard. A bit of a bum clenching moment but what a day.
