99 V Reg 1.4 Clio Cutting Out Help!

My Missis Clio is Having Problems Again!!!!

It Randomly Cuts out. I have have been searching this Site for Answers and I am gonna Tackle Cleaning the Throttle Body. Will this be similar to my Vectra as my Veccy had the Exact problem and I have cleaned that (IAC Valve inside it) And it sorted.

Or is there a How to maybe including photos for this anywhere

PS One of The Back Doors Is Locked and doesnt open. And ideas there.
Happened a fortnight ago. Cant pull the Door Pin up and The Central Locking keeps it locked.

Had a Go Today and couldnt get the Airpan off as It has them Star Shaped Bolts, plus Couldnt find my Socket Set. Sprayed some carb cleaner in the Carb Flap Thing. Have to have another go another Time. What do you do after the Airpan is off?? To clean Throttle Body

i would proberly take it to renault or somewhere with renault clip as it proberly wont be the throttle body

I Seems to be Better but The Revs always tick over around 500 or just over. When cold Sometimes just Under. It should be around about 750 Shouldnt it?

no 500 is about right mate when cold it should be on about 1000 approx but not for very long, well thats what mine is like anyway.

I'm having the same problem, i tried to get the throttle body off lastnight, once u get the airpan off (the 2 female torx bolts) i couldn't get it out, there wasn't enough room between the engine and bulkhead.. (any tips on how this is done?)

once it's off get your 10mm ratchet and there are 2 bolts fixing the TB to the block. (i couldn't get to them cos the airpan bit, but i seen them! Grrr..)

i tried to clean mine the best i could with a clean rag but it is now worse.. Doh.

Anyone know how to get it off? (without taking engine mounts off! lol)

as ur doing it mate is the only way unless you take the inlet manifold off but i think you have to get throttle body off.

maybe attack this tonight again.. problem being i dont have a full set of female torx bits... anyone know the size of the ones holding the inlet manifold down?

no you dont need to take the inlet off andy you do know there 2 10mms down the back of the throttle body they are easy to do can do them in 10 mins

my 172 seems to be doing this to usaly at low revs ! is thisa commont clio problem? any quick fixes or is ita specialist job??? HELP!!!!

Do you think the Sockets I need Will Be in a Standard Socket Set. Im gonna have look for the Socket Set tomorrow And Find out. And go for it.

Got a Mechanic I know To Clean the Housing out. AND.................Its fantastic now. It did cut out a couple times taking it home. But must have adjusted itself as its never conked out since. Exhaust was previously leaking and I got a new Exhausted fitted. I wonder if that might have had an effect
