Im about to buy a 99' clio 1.2 with a 172 2.0 conversion....
Im pritty clueless about the conversion but ive been told by the owner that the full engine/loom/ecu/brakes/suspension/rear axle complete with disc brakes was used from a broken 172.
It had the 172 speedo clocks in too..
I test drove it yesterday and it seems to pull well!!
Also, one slight problem is that the starter motor isnt working, but the owner believes it is just a problem with the live feed to the motor, since having the gearbox converted.
Anyone done this conversion and what are the chances the owner isnt telling porky pies
