"57 Plate" 1.8 16v mk1 ph1 clio

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
Just testing the water on this one but if there was one how much you think it would be worth.

and would anyone be interested in buying one if they were for sale.

Regards
Chris.

What a car thats been sat round for 10 years or so unregistered ??

Or are you asking if we would buy a valver again, if they were to remake them ?

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
not quite this is a newly built vehicle from renault parts using unregistered shell with all reciepts for every part.

  corsa c exclusiv
i would pay around 5-8k max, you would have to have a good price as there are a lot of cars on the market now, e.g fiesta ST, Citroen C2 vts etc.

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
this is in the process of being built although renault and other suppliers are having trouble getting certain parts like the drivers side seat foam.

Yes there are several pictures however no one is getting hold of them untill it comes out of the garage hopefully by the end of the year..

  Clio's
I dont understand why anybody would spend money re-bulding a car which has the same specs and looks as it did 10 years ago!! surely people would want newer more modern cars!

  Clio 16V mk1 ph2
I don't really understand that. It's gotta at least be different. It's like that Yellow Williams that turned up on ebay. At least it was different, well, at least the look of it was. Stood out.

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
no one said it would be exactly the same spec as the 10 year old car
aircon
leather
a veriety of after market goodies from the likes
koni
miltec
garrett
momo
omega
kent
piper

are all in the make up.

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
cult status people have done it with
landrovers
golfs
audis
minis
just to name a few

people pay a premium for having these cars built to look like the origional but with added comforts of modern cars some of these include proformance upgrades some of them styling.

when you build this sort of thing people customise the car at time of production.

so you get a brand new car say a 1.8 16v mk1 ph1 clio
with air con leather seats from 182 rears trimmed to match
turbo engine as std konis whiteline ap 6 pots front 4 pots rear
speedline 16" 172 cup wheels choice of tyres ect

  FREELANDER/ TB HYBRID
There are two of them being made for the directors of a new tuning company based in the north west. Each slightly differant but cosmeticly look the same.
both will be vw 2001 yellow.

  valver engined r5.
ill believe it when i c it, or at least photos of work in progress, but im sure they wil never appear jus like the car.

  No more clio's for me!
Surely this is gunna cost a stupid amount of cash...heard something like this before but for an escort and the parts alone, all genuine dealer parts where over 20k+ or something stupid!

Not worth it imo, regardless of uprated parts.

  172 cup TT
good luck with it mate - dont let this lot flame you down.. hope it goes well, we'll all like to see pics when you have then.

This is a project i would undertake if i won the lottery, wouldnt spend a large amount of money building a fresh one where money actually had a meaning, to me that is financial stupidty. What I would do is buy a decent one do the mods you mentioned and put a private plate on it, as if you spent that amount of cash you couldnt really ever afford to sell it.

  Octavia VRS
sounds very interesting. I've seen some articles of similar work being carried out to Jag XJS's iirc. Good luck and look forward to seeing a finished product.

A couple of people have built Sierra Cossies from brand new shells etc, would only do it if I was trying to make a factory fresh standard car.

If your going to be uprating loads of parts you may aswell just refresh and old car.

I've thought that as well. If money was no object I'd love to buy a Mk1 shell etc and build it up like brand new with most things upgraded. The thing that has me wondering about this one was that I know renault no longer sell Mk1 shells as it was discussed recently over on WC. If it is true then it would be awesome and I can't wait to see it but i'm just a bit dubious as there aren't any pics etc, though I suppose a fair reason has been given for that.

agreed, its a bit pointless. A MINT newly registered Valver would be awesome to see, but as said not worth selling on, it would only be worth what someone is willing to pay for it, or a project for someone who was passionate about the car and had no intention of selling it.

  172, Tiguan
Agreed, if they were standard then fair enough, but why modify them? Also why a Valver and not a Williams?

  106 GTi
A new Williams would never be a proper Williams though - 2.0 power would make sense though.

  172, Tiguan
If it was built using original parts it would be. Granted it wouldn't be numbered but who cares.

  106 GTi
Tell that to Stromba ;)

Agreed though going to that expense you may aswell build the car to Williams spec, minus the nasty seats.

  COLTCZT,Clio 440T project
nasty seats????? Willy seats R LUSH!
i wud love to C this if it is true!
also if i won th lottery i wud do this 2, without a dowt!

I'd love to see it done but personal it would e a Williams spec not a Valver its no like a Clio is worth enough realy to do this unlike say a XJS etc.

Plus would have to ne N/A forget the turbo stuff.

Be interested to see where you getting the body shell from as they stopped sellin Williams body shells some time ago as I checked.

i don't understand how it would be on a new numberplate??

we're putting pinky on the road, but we have had to get a letter from RUK to send to DVLA to prove when the car was first built, its number plate will be on the year of manufacture
