51 Plate Clio , electrical fault

Hi, I am new here so..... Hello......and please go easy on me!

For the past few weeks my Clio Dynamique 1.2, cuts out every now and again, when I restart I have to rev the engine high to make it run properly again.

When this happens I also get the electrical fault warning light coming on, I have spoke to Renault about this over the phone and they said they need to hook it up to a special diagnostics machine which will cost £70 (just to find the fault)

My question is..... has anyone had this problem with their vehicle, and also does anyone know of a Renault specialist in the Midlands who could do this, as I hate going in to the dealer to to high costs and in-personal service.

Im in the same positon at the moment mate. I had an engine steam and my car was stuttering and cutting out for a few days and then the electronic fault light came on in the dash.

Ive already had it checked on the at one place but they where trying to charge me over £400 to fix it!

The car is running fine now and renualt have said to me I need to pay £68 to get it checked

Im gonna have to get it done but i F*uckin hate gettin stung with the rediculous prices.....

Oh dear! May ask exactly what the £400 was to cover?

if you are in Devon..we do the diag test for £35.00 + vat if that helps.

think http://www.cliospares.co.ukwww.cliospares.co.uk may have a diag machine they are based in wolverhampton, dunno how much they would charge though!
