1.7k at twenty one is not that unreasonable even with 4 years NCB. If you can get 750 then by all means go for it, but I wouldn't fancy putting a claim in.

I was paying around 1k at 20 on my 200(1 year ncb and a few accidents on record). Pay around £440 now on my Leon @ 21 with 2 years ncb.

Try an air filter mod with Flux, I was only TPFT but same as you 21, 4 yrs NCB, no points or convictions and it came out at £795

Personally I'd avoid brokers (flux, sky insurance etc) all fine until you need to claim or cancel and they are very funny about what car's they insure if you ever want to swap over your policy.

I'm with Admiral which are fine and they were also the cheapest @ £630 FC on my 182. That's with me (23 with 5 years NCB clean licence) and my GF on it (21 with 3 points)

Im almost 24 with 4 year ncb and clean license and for 3rd party on my 172 its £1300 with allen and allen! Tbh im not impressed with that at all if insurers look at previous cars then they would see if had boras, golfs and all!!

Admiral/Bell/Elephant are all cheaper if you are parked in the street than say a locked garage or a drive. More cars in your house the better too as more to choose from - obviously you need to be legit.

I'm with Admiral Multicar atm, but come renewal, I want to move onto specialist insurance, as ill be wanting to mod this one.

When getting a quote from flux/brentacre tell them its modified (just put a panel filter in or something cheap) and your in a car club, get cheaper quotes that way
