200 EDC symposer/sound pipe Blanking Caps coming off!

Fitted the blanking caps (38mm from AST silicon) in place of the sound pipe. Do you need to fill the cavity with anything else as my cap is being slowly blown off ? - original spring clips used to secure in place.
