1st Time Clio!

Got recommend here from an old friend for everything clio knowledge wise.

Im looking at getting hold of a mk1 clio 1.8 16v, my mate had a K reg one in cherry red and loved it and want something similar

what are the common faults to look for and differences between phase 1 and phase 2 ones?

my mate told me to check the oil pressure or something level on the 3 gauges on dashboard?

Rust is the isseu they rust on the rear arches on the tailgate and doors at the bottom and under the sills etc.

Oil pressure yep need to check it goes up with revs and is a decient level and goes down as engine gets hot. Idle say 1 bar when warm and 3bar when warm driving at a decient speed but it all depends on the engine some are higher some lower. Biggest killer is if the pressure starts acting wierd as might be signs its dieing
