They actually are, no saying all are but I asked that question to my gf's stepdad who is a copper and he said that nomally they are standard.

Police cars are standard.

Theyre just driven properly, so the boy racers say they must be modded when something with a small engine and loads of kit on board keeps up with them.

The silver 197 in the posters mentioned was an advert for a trap car for car theives. Not a police car.

The silver 182 ex-police car mentioned above would likely have been cid etc, without lights fitted.

Best ive seen is an RS4 avant, black with blacked out windows.

Edit: the best unmarked i have seen was in central London a couple of days after the london terror bombs, I saw a BMW X5 flooring in Chelsea but the coppers inside all had balaclavas on, that was the best bit lol.

Indeed! Theres a dark blue saab also with xenons, green volvo.... The list goes on, i notice them all the time!

my old mans a sergeant in Bedford. They always get given free trials with cars from dealers and the place that stickers up, and put the blues and twos on everything is just down the road too.

He bought the evo home last week. was lurvely!!!


i do also believe there was a 911 going around few years back too. Absolutely no point to it whatsoever. but must have been a laugh!

Not sure about the standard thing. i expect most normal 'panda' cars and vans are standard, but oi know some traffic cars are chipped, and so is my dads zafira gsi dog van! poorlittle pooches!!!!

Ive seen a new Evo in Newcastle, there was a fire at a garage, the street was blocked off at one side by 2 marked cars then the Evo pulled up in the middle.
I have also been told from a reliable source that there is also a golf gti, Megane 225 and Subaru unmarked cars knocking about the area.
Also on my trip to pick my car up last year a saw 3 cars being pulled over by unmarked cars, unmarked cars were a Subaru, Focus ST and a Evo. This was 1 year ago.

The undercover ST's and things around my area are compeltely standard so im told, but no doubt there are section of police that will have tuned motors

I did see a quality burgandy Transit unmarked in Guildford a few months back, it had a ladder on the roof and looked like a window cleaners van, apart from the lights and siren!

my force use an R1 for biker days etc. only time it is used.

Which force do you work for, and do you get to drive any decent unmarked - it must be quality pulling over someone, especially if they are doing a bit of road rage or cut-ups on you?

traffic have st220's as their unmarked cars. the ARV use an old skool omega 3.2litre i think.

the sneaky beaks.. well i can't disclose what is used there. but it varies...
