182 at 18

Was just wondering has anyone got a 182 at 18?

Driving a vtr now and get my years no claims next month and dont know what car to get.

Wait another year or so imo. More money than sense. I'd buy a cheaper car to insure and invest in some lube for next year

I'm paying just under £700 at 22 (Female) and I feel like I've been abused by the insurance company... 2.4k is just silly!

I was 19 when i got mine...was 1400£ Decent move as the insurance the next yr was about 1/2...And the Vee at 21 was only 1k.

How in college did you pay £2.4k for insurance, buy a saxo vtr, and manage to save for a 182 and another £2.4k insurance?

I got mine at 19. It's not as bad as you think... the second year will see it drop by 50%

I could afford to spend £2400 on insurance if i wanted to, but i don't coz its a complete rip off!

I'm gonna wait a year or 2 and get myself a 197 or the like, then hopefully the insurance will make sense

al be gettin my 197 at 20 (next year) as was way way expensive this year! Being 19 with a years no cliams 2200 and that wasnt even fully comp :O if i payed that then wrote it off ad cry for months lol

im 21 ive payed thousands ova 4yrs of driving on insurance it aint worth it mate am paying 700quid now and thats to much in my eyes.
only now do i relise when my 1st kid and house is comming along in 2months that it wasnt worth it and now i havent got any savings for my house or kid

19: £2200
20: £1600
21: £997
22: £880

I really wish I hadn't had written that down.

Deffor go for it, i had a 5 GT Turbo when i was 18, i always look at the old photos and have good memories of all the stuff me and me pals used to get up to (pushing it home for example)

I never look back and think i wish i saved that £2k insurance money!!

It seems to me like regardless of what anyone else says on here, you want to get a 182. You dont want to wait until your a bit older. Your heart is set on it and you want some re assurance from cliosport members that spending that much on insurance is justified....

It's simply not worth it, whether you can affford it or not. Being prepared to fork out over £2K for insurance, circa £1K for petrol (probably more) and any other running costs (speeding fines?) for a 182 is insane!

I grudge paying £200 for my insurance.

The VTR probably isn't even worth £2400 but you never thought you were losing out?! Things are making sense now!
